Can We Help?

Who We Help

Over the past few years, the Previte Family Charitable Trust has taken steps towards expanding our reach to new and different organizations to gain exposure to a broader reach of causes to support. This approach has allowed us to learn about new and worthy organizations which align with our objectives.

Some of the organizations that the Previte Family Charitable Trust works with include:

  • The Phoenix – https://thephoenix.org/in 2004, I was watching CNN when Scott Strode, the founder of The Phoenix was being recognized as one of their “Hero’s of the Year”. “The Phoenix’s mission is to build a sober active community that fuels resilience and harnesses the transformational power of connection so that together, we rise, recover and live.” As a sober person, I was immediately inspired, Googled, and emailed him. We quickly connected and I flew to Denver, Colorado to meet Scott. With Scotts historic Boston ties (he got sober in Boston) and my local interest in opening a chapter, we got to the task at hand! Within 18 months we worked together to raise approximately $1,000,000 and open a permanent facility in Boston to serve the sober/recovery community that continues to thrive to this day helping thousands of participants achieve sobriety and in turn their life goals!
  • AMBUCS – https://ambucs.org/ . I was grateful for the opportunity to work with AMBUCS financially and with my time in 2021. In addition to a financial commitment, I was able to be part of their Tyler, TX team building ramps for elderly/disabled veterans. It was an effort with immediate and consequential results and an organization I hope to be a part of for years to come.

  • Citizens Inn – https://citizensinn.org/ Historically, the PFCT has focused on Education, Sobriety and Children’s causes. Recently, I participated in a fundraising effort with my St. John’s Preparatory high school class and was introduced to a powerful, well run, worthy organization that I was unfamiliar with but hit on 2 out of three of the focus areas of the PFCT. Citizens Inn in MA supports Children’s needs and Sobriety helping families rebuild through and after addiction has taken its toll. We are extremely grateful for the work they are doing and to be a part of their program. As I learned more, I thought about the fact that there are many amazing organizations out there that I am not familiar with and are important to other persons where I and others might be interested and able to help support. This exposure was one of the contributing factors leading to the creation of the charitable giving initiative – the Big Belt Buckle Challenge https://jeffrey-previte.com/big-belt-buckle-challenge/

  • Boston College and Boston College High School – The Previte Family Charitable Trust has assisted nearly 200 students attend Boston College through scholarships and has simultaneously improved the quality of the attendees at B.C.
  • The BASE – https://thebase.org/partnerships/ Founded in 2013, The BASE is an urban academy that leverages sports as a vehicle to engage youth in a positive, success-driven culture.  With high-quality athletic training, coaching, and competition, paired with personalized academic support, the BASE cultivates and highlights urban talent and builds pathways to college, career, and success in life.
